Pope Leo XIV proclaimed a Franciscan Jubilee Year for the 800th anniversary of the Transit of St. Francis.
The proclamation states that, from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, it is possible to obtain a Plenary Indulgence, under the usual conditions, by making a pilgrimage to any Franciscan conventual church or place of worship.
Come join us for a pilgrimage by car to our local Franciscan church, St. Paul the Apostle in Pismo Beach, for a special Rosary and Mass with Fr. Beto!
This pilgrimage will be by car from St. Patrick's in Arroyo Grande, to St. Paul the Apostle in Pismo Beach. Please read through the schedule below.
09:00 AM: Meet at St. Patrick's church, arrange to carpool with fellow parishoners if you are able to.
09:15 AM: Depart from St. Patrick's, driving to St. Paul's in Pismo Beach
10:00 AM: Rosary at St. Paul's, followed by the celebration of Holy Mass
From 09:30 AM - 10:30 AM Confession will be available at St Paul's.
Following the end of Mass, lunch will be provided at the St. Paul's parish hall (Matthias Hall). Please RSVP at the bottom of this page as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly!

An indulgence is the remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has been forgiven, which the faithful Christian who is duly disposed gains under certain defined conditions through the Church’s help when, as minister of Redemption, she dispenses and applies with authority the treasury of the satisfaction won by Christ and the saints. (Article 4, Section X)
Sacramental confession to be in God's grace (within twenty days before or after).
Participation in Mass and Eucharistic Communion.
Visit in the form of a pilgrimage any Franciscan conventual church or place of worship dedicated to St. Francis anywhere in the world or designated by the local bishop.
Renews one's profession of faith, through the recitation of the Creed.
Recite the Lord's Prayer.
Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father.
